Our Story

South Dakota Ghostbusters was founded in 2014 with a clear mission: to bring positive energy, creativity, and community support to Sioux Falls and the greater Sioux Empire. For over a decade, we’ve proudly served the region as an established Ghostbusters team made up of local fans who believe in giving back through community cosplay.

We don’t just suit up for fun; we show up for charity fundraisers, community festivals, parades, and various Ghostbusters events across the Sioux Empire. From screen-accurate gear to professional appearances, our focus remains straightforward: suit up, have fun, and make a difference.

Since 2014, South Dakota Ghostbusters has participated in more than 100 public events throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding Sioux Empire region. From large charity fundraisers to local community celebrations, including various community cosplay events, we’ve built a reputation for authenticity, professionalism, and crowd engagement. 

Our Ecto vehicles, proton packs, and Ghostbusters equipment have become recognizable fixtures at these Ghostbusters events across the Sioux Empire. As a dedicated South Dakota Ghostbusters team, we continue to grow by staying creative, staying local, and staying committed to the communities we serve.

Brandon Repp came in as a rookie and proved himself quickly. He dedicated his time, participated in various Ghostbusters events, and earned his place as a full member of the South Dakota Ghostbusters. Brandon connects naturally with kids and families, understanding that our mission revolves around creating genuine moments, not just donning a flight suit. When he suits up, he proudly represents the team with energy, contributing to our community cosplay and supporting Sioux Falls charity initiatives every time.

Wayne Wayt is a core part of Team Proton Pack, adding his unique personality to every Ghostbusters event he attends. Whether he’s working the booth, helping with setup, or posing next to Slimer for photos, Wayne keeps things fun while maintaining professionalism. He takes his role in the community cosplay seriously as a representative of the South Dakota Ghostbusters, showing up ready to enhance the event and support Sioux Falls charity efforts.

Scott is the right-hand man behind the scenes and a key force at community cosplay events, especially during our Sioux Falls charity initiatives. With years of cosplay experience under his belt, he understands craftsmanship, presentation, and how to represent a character the right way. He helps keep operations smooth, gear dialed in, and the team organized when it matters most. At events, particularly those related to Ghostbusters, Scott brings both professionalism and personality. Behind the scenes, he’s the steady presence that keeps things moving forward. Every strong team has someone making sure the details are handled. For us, that’s Scott.

Sean is one of the biggest Ghostbusters fans you’ll ever meet. His connection to the franchise runs deep, and it shows in everything he does. For him, suiting up for community cosplay isn’t just about dressing up; it’s personal. It’s nostalgia, passion, and heart all rolled into one. Giving back is just as important to Sean as honoring the films. He believes in using the uniform to make a real impact in the community, whether that’s supporting local charities, participating in Ghostbusters events, spending extra time with kids, or helping create unforgettable moments. When Sean puts on the flight suit, he brings authenticity, enthusiasm, and genuine care with him every time.

Kim is part of the team, even when distance makes it harder to attend every Ghostbusters event. Working out of a remote office means we don’t get to see them as often, but when Kim suits up, they bring creativity, attention to detail, and a strong sense of pride in representing the South Dakota Ghostbusters. Kim understands that being part of this community cosplay isn’t about how often you’re seen; it’s about commitment to the mission. When they’re able to join us for Sioux Falls charity events, they show up ready to contribute and represent the team the right way.

Amy is the backbone of the South Dakota Ghostbusters, playing a crucial role in organizing and driving the group forward, especially during community cosplay events. As Vice President, she brings warmth and professionalism to every Ghostbusters event. Behind the scenes, Amy manages logistics, communication, and the countless details that most people overlook. The group's success relies on her leadership and steady presence. She is deeply committed to supporting local charities in Sioux Falls, ensuring that everything they do has a meaningful impact.

Nate has been part of the South Dakota Ghostbusters more than once. Like many strong teams, life shifts, priorities change, and sometimes paths take a turn. What matters is that Nate chose to come back, and that says something about his commitment. He understands what this community cosplay represents and believes in the mission enough to return and suit up again. Nate brings experience, perspective, and a genuine appreciation for what we’ve built together, especially during our Ghostbusters events. When he’s at an event, he represents the team with pride and understands the responsibility that comes with the uniform. Some people visit, while others truly belong—Nate belongs, and his involvement helps strengthen our Sioux Falls charity efforts.

Noah has been with the South Dakota Ghostbusters since day one, becoming a part of the community cosplay that defines our group. He started out as a kid around the team and grew up right alongside it. What began as childhood excitement turned into real commitment. Today, Noah is a full member, suiting up not as the kid tagging along, but as part of the team itself. He understands the history of this group because he lived it. He’s seen where we started, how we’ve grown, and what it takes to keep it moving forward, especially through our participation in various Ghostbusters events and Sioux Falls charity initiatives. Not many people can say they grew up inside something like this. Noah can.

Keith is the newest full member of the South Dakota Ghostbusters, and he didn’t just show up; he arrived ready to engage in our community cosplay activities. From the start, he impressed the group with his professionalism, reliability, and genuine enthusiasm for what we do, especially during Ghostbusters events. Keith carries himself the right way in uniform and understands that representing the team means more than just wearing the patch. His positive energy and willingness to step in wherever needed made it clear he was a strong fit for our Sioux Falls charity efforts. He may be new to the roster, but he’s already proving he belongs.
